      Verdict

      PEARL NATION returns from a lay-off but was beaten only a neck in a much tougher claimer than this over a mile here earlier in the year. Mick Appleby’s charge has plenty in hand on these terms and is difficult to oppose if running anywhere near his mark. Escape Clause continues to struggle so Zaeem looks a bigger danger as he’s a course and distance winner in the past but it’s difficult to make a serious case for any of the remainder.
