Verdict
NIGHTJAR is preferred to Captain Macarry and Resplendent Nova. Mark Johnston's charge appeared to have lost his way but was very well backed prior to a most impressive success over course and distance on his first visit to the track. He's 8lbs higher now but has gone close from similar marks in the past and can go in again on a track that clearly suits. Resplendent Nova shouldn't be far away as he was just under three lengths away in second last month but it was a little disappointing that he didn't fare better at Great Leighs on his latest start. Captain Macarry drops back from a mile which should be in his favour but the handicapper didn't take any chances in raising him 10lbs for his course and distance success. Yes One won on his return from a break in February so enters calculations but he's probably high enough in the weights at present so we'll look to Nightjar.
