      Verdict

      Shallow Hal came out best over course and distance last week in a fight for the line with GABRIAL THE DEVIL. But the former is penalised today and Richard Fahey’s charge can take revenge having won over track and trip on his penultimate start. The latter’s stablemate Brian The Snail went close at Lingfield recently but debuts on the surface, though finished in front of Lomu back in December. He also had Tawny Port behind when scoring at Kempton and the latter returned a beaten favourite over the minimum trip here last week.
