    In depth

MISTER MUSIC was beaten only a length in a Class 3 handicap over track and trip last time and a repeat should see Tony Carroll’s charge go very close dropping back down to this level. The Great Wall has something to prove over today’s trip but Mama Africa has to come into the equation on these terms. She wasn’t at her best when well beaten by Muqarred over course and distance last month though re-opposes on much better terms and the latter was due to run at yesterday’s meeting here. Born To Reason and Majestic Man have little chance at the weights and will do well to figure.

Mister Music 9-1 (8-12) Dwelt in touch, headway over 2f out, soon every chance, one pace final furlong, 3rd of 6, 1l behind Space Bandit (9-2) at Southwell 1m hcp (3) pol in Mar.

The Great Wall (USA) 2-1fav (10-0) Dwelt, behind and outpaced, ridden and headway over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong, 4th of 8, 2 1/4l behind Falcao (9-5) at Southwell 6f stks (5) pol in Apr.

Muqarred (USA) 7-2 (8-9) Chased leading trio until 3f out, soon outpaced, rallied over 1f out, kept on final furlong, 3rd of 7, 6 1/4l behind Fire Diamond (9-0) at Southwell 1m hcp (5) pol in Apr.

Born To Reason (IRE) 20-1 (8-12) Mid-division, ridden over 2f out, kept on final 100 yards, never dangerous, 4th of 13, 3 1/2l behind Tha'ir (9-2) at Wolverhampton 1m 1f hcp (6) pol in Apr.

Mama Africa (IRE) 20-1 (9-7) Prominent, ridden 3f out, faded inside final furlong, 5th of 11, 7 1/4l behind Bond Angel (8-10) at Southwell 1m hcp (5) pol in Apr.

Majestic Man (IRE) 250-1 (11-2) Well off the pace in 4th, went badly left 3rd, tailed off and eased before 3 out, 4th of 6, dist behind Good Boy Bobby (11-8) at Southwell 2m (4) gd in Mar.
