TOP FLIGHT SPLASH is put forward in a handicap where good form is severely lacking, Golden Pool and Valdemar also make the shortlist. The selection's one previous win was over course and distance last year and she was expected to improve on her seasonal return on turf last month. She duly did so, but proved less willing than the winner finishing a creditable runner up. She is put forward to go one better here today, and amongst such modest company things may come a little easier this time round. Golden Pool is dropped 4lbs since her final outing of 2008 and should be able to seriously challenge off this sort of mark. Her last outing saw her finish sixth in a Folkestone handicap last time, but she ran with credit and should be able to do better on the surface here. Valdemar has improved since stepping up to 7f. His last win came back in February and though a win looks unlikely here, a place among the minors is to be expected.
