In depth

Verdict

Bertie Bear showed improved form last time and can land this weak affair, Dylan and Beginners Luck could be the main rivals. The selection returned from a five month break to chase home Joking John at Wolverhampton last week. It wasn't the strongest of races but neither is this and with Eddie Ahern booked a big run can be expected. Dylan gained his first ever victory when winning here last week. It was quite a comfortable success and so he should go close even with a six pound penalty. Beginners Luck was favourite for that contest but was well beaten, on today's terms he should get a lot closer to Dylan and could possibly pick up some place money. Silver Nun and Cuesta Canyon look the best of the others, but Bertie Bear looks worth following now he has hit form.
