Verdict

A tricky looking claimer where the obvious one at the weights is Turner's Touch, but he looks more effective on the polytrack and we will side with Paul The Carpet here, while there are others to consider. Gary Moore has booked Seb Sanders for the mount on Paul The Carpet, who is rated just 46, but who has won over this trip at Wolverhampton, a track where eh also went well in defeat last time. Two previous tries here have proved abortive, but they may have been more to do with the trip than the surface and we will get more idea of his ability to handle it today. If he does then he could be the one. Shandelight has gone up a stone since an easy Bath fillies' handicap win. There may well be more to come, but even so at these weights she'd need to improve a few pounds just to get competitive. Black Falcon goes well here and is up 10lb for a Beverley win over the trip, so if this is his true rating then he's not got much to find and can go close. Nimello is a grand old stick who has a couple of c&d wins to his name but looks too high in the weights, Key Partners is bang out of form and Turner's Touch prefers the polytrack, so we'll take his stable companion Paul The Carpet to score.
