In depth
Verdict
A few unexposed types mix it with some animals that have proved to be very hard to win with, so this could be a stinger for punters if any of the younger horses have started to come into themselves. The market will give the best indication in that area and moves for any of: Quincannon, Starcross Venture and Classic Vision should be noted with interest. However, the application of first time blinkers for Shadowfax may be enough to initiate a change in fortune for Gay Kellaway's four-year-old and he is fancied to finally register a first win in the form book. The son of Anabaa put in his best effort to date when he was run out of things over course and distance just after Christmas, but a better performance is anticipated with the headgear employed today. Lake Eyre is weighted to give the selection plenty to think about but she lacks consistency and rarely runs two races the same. Therefore, Shadowfax is given the benefit of the doubt and he is the one who sets the standard aim for today.
