In depth

Verdict

Honest Broker ran promisingly on his first start here last time and Mark Johnston's colt has to be respected but it is hard to get away from TOBRATA, who gets the vote to gain a deserved success with Cosmo de Medici rated the main danger. The selection would not be winning out of turn having been placed in his last four starts including in two races here and Mel Brittain's gelding looks to have been found a decent opportunity to open his account. Kevin McAuliffe's Gold Party ran better here last time when chasing home Thundering Home in a maiden and he makes more appeal than Milton Bradley's Spiders Tern, who has been well held in all three starts so far. Cordiality has been similarly heavily beaten in his three outings and of more interest is Hugh Morrison's Cosmo de Medici, who has shown gradual improvement in his three starts. Tobrata has an obvious chance though on all known form and looks the one to beat.
