Verdict
Paddy Mul gets our vote here ahead of Kagoshima, Kyalami and Charnwood Street. Going through the field, Charnwood Street has now dropped to a mark at which he should be competitive at this kind of level. He has raced 35 times with only one placing to his name, although that sole money-earning effort was a win here over a mile in 2002. That gives an indication of the type of race that this is. However, he can't be ruled out of scoring in a modest heat. Paddy Mul finished second here over 12 furlongs on January 4. Turftanzer was three lengths behind him that day and they meet on the same terms here but over a four-furlong longer trip. Marengo and Kittylee were even further behind on that occasion. We'll take the view that the form will be confirmed today. Kagoshima finished three-and-a-half lengths ahead of Kyalami when they were both behind Delta Force over gtoday's course and distance distance four days ago. The latter is now fitted with a first-time eyeshield but Kagoshima might well get the better of him again. Ireland's Eye is a winning hurdler but has an absence to overcome. Overall, then, we'll side with Paddy Mul to land the finale on the card.
