In depth
Verdict
Brian Meehan's Scholarship has the chance to atone for a recent disappointment against interesting debutantes, Zwadi and Emhala. Scholarship was sent off an even money favourite at Windsor for a better contest than this but ran a highly disappointing race. If he is able to reproduce anything like his debut third at Newbury; he looks very difficult to oppose. Zwadi is related to some quality performers in Duty Paid and Middle Park Stakes winner, Ballad Rock. The market will speak volumes today about the filly and the recent stable form must rank as a major positive. Emhala represents a yard that has had a fantastic opening to the season. Paul Blockley's debutante must be watched in the market for positive vibes. Straw Bear has a distinctly middle-distance pedigree and could be a player this time next year. Nessen Dorma is a cheaply bought gelding who hails from a yard who specialises in all-weather contests such as this.
