Verdict

A competitive opener, with marginal preference being for SAROBAR ahead of Iris's Flyer and Feeling Peckish. Grand National winning jockey Liam Treadwell and trainer John Spearing come here for their only interest on the card with Sarobar. He fell last time out just over a week ago, but hopefully that won't have dented his confidence, and a number of these have failed to complete for one reason or another. He receives over a stone from Coldwells and Qullygham, the latter being fitted with first time blinkers today. His two career wins, both last year, came in differing conditions, although this is a step up in trip, but he does stay well. Iris's Flyer has run well in his last couple of outings over this trip, and has won here before, albeit over a shorter trip. He's the only scheduled ride here for Aiden Coleman. Feeling Peckish has yet to win in 58 attempts, but came as close as ever to breaking his duck last time out last week when runner up in a Warwick conditionals' race. A similar effort may be enough to land this. Boardroom Dancer is the only course and distance winner in the field, but that was six years ago. Plenty here have chances, but we'll side with Sarobar.
