        Verdict

        Mama Africa has won three times around here but has never won over a trip this short. GNAAD is 2-6 on the track and has been keeping much stronger company. It's over a year since he won but looks on a fair mark nowadays and can concede weight all round. Poeta Brasileiro went up 6lb for scoring over the course and distance and couldn't quite cope at Chelmsford though that was a slightly better race than this. Esprit De Corps has been running quite well but a strike-rate of 1-29 doesn't inspire confidence while Liamba has struggled off her raised mark after scoring here in May.
