Verdict
Mr Spliffy is a tentative choice ahead of the likes of Catchthebatch and Lay Down Sally in a weak seller. Mr Spliffy has taken on better company this season, and on his close second to Strensall at Catterick in October, has major claims. Catchthebatch comes from a shrewd yard and has been a regular on the all-weather of late. He has a couple of wins over five furlongs here to his credit, but has won over six furlongs, and has run one two nice races on turf in the summer. He has place claims along with Lay Down Sally, placed a couple of times earlier this year, but who seems to prefer the faster Polytrack. It is hard to enthuse over the rest, but the Dandy Nicholls-trained Boisdale is a course and distance scorer here, and it would not surprise us if he were to run a big race, based on his best form. A small investment on Mr Spliffy is the suggestion.
