Speedie Rossini can live up to his name to beat Bodden Bay, Brut, Alzarma, and Waterline Lover. Unplaced on each of his first four career starts on Turf, Speedie Rossini has done a bit better since being switched to the all-weather in January. He has been tried over three different trips in as many starts, and his last two runs came in the space of 24 hours. On each occasion he appeared to hold every chance, but it has to be said that he failed to deliver both with and without blinkers or a visor. The ability is definitely there, and if anybody can unleash it then Stuart Williams can. We shall give the gelding another chance to come good today. Bodden Bay won a seller at Lingfield the time before last but that is just about his level, while Brut was headed close home at Catterick recently, and may appreciate both the step back up in trip and return to the fibresand. Alzarma was noted making good late headway at Wolverhampton but that was in lesser company than this, and Waterline Lover is dropped back in distance for his all-weather bow. All in all, it is a race that will not take much winning, and Speedie Rossini has leading claims.
