Verdict

Southerndown looks the best call in a tricky contest where Laazim Afooz and Lost In Normandy provide the main opposition. The selection, a winner over hurdles here in August, was not disgraced on a return to chasing at Worcester recently and off what looks like a fair mark is taken to give weight away all round. Laazim Afooz is capable on his day but gave little sign for encouragement on his return at Sedgefield and is probably best watched. Bangor winner Lost In Normandy rates a bigger danger to the selection but a 5lb rise since that success last month gives leaves him with more to do. Star Councel is only moderate so the percentage call is for Southerndown.
