Verdict

Worcester winner Suspendid struggled to confirm the form on his return at Uttoxeter last month and looks opposable under top weight with the vote going to Fier Goumier, who gets the verdict over Royal Castle. The last mentioned is gradually slipping to an attractive mark but has given little sign for encouragement in recent starts and is probably best watched for the time being. Shardante has been off the track for a long time and it is impossible to know how much enthusiasm he retains for the game and a bigger threat may be Poly Amanshaa, who stepped up on his reappearance effort when a close-up fifth behind Hit Royal at Huntingdon last time. The ex-Irish Fier Goumier showed enough when second to Tambo at Uttoxeter last month to suggest that a race of this nature would be well within his compass. His latest start is best ignored when pulled up after slipping on the bend and Jonjo O'Neill's gelding is taken to open his account in Brittain.
