Verdict
This is a good quality sprint handicap, and it is hard to oppose Red Cape who has run well in defeat recently, although Desperate Dan and Prince Tum Tum are others to note. Desperate Dan is having his first run on the all-weather for a year, and he may enjoy a return to the surface he seems to favour. he has been placed a couple of times on turf, but his last win came here a year ago, and he can go well when fresh. After wins at Wolverhampton and Kempton towards the end of last year, Prince Tum Tum has run well in defeat and he can go well for an in form yard here, although he perhaps needs to come down the weights again before winning again. Red Cape ran well in a conditions contest last time that has thrown up two winners of competitive contests, and although he has found handicaps tougher and has been raised three pounds, Red Cape can prove an obstacle too daunting for his rivals to conquer.
