    Verdict

A disappointingly small field here for the richest race on the card, and we'll side with FORMATION, in preference to Robby Bobby and Best Prospect. Jim Boyle, who recently took Formation under his wing, has said that his gelding has ability but is also quirky. He comes here chasing a hat-trick though on his Southwell debut, having previously won on the polytrack. The stable's other runner, Mohatheb looks capable of place money at best in what's only his fifth outing. He's got weight in hand over all his rivals, but has yet to live up to hopes after costing 68,000 Guineas two years ago, before connections cut their losses and sold him in October for a quarter of that. Robby Bobby is the only one to have previously won here, which can be an important factor on this surface. That was over this trip but in a lower grade handicap, but last time out won a similar level contest at Lingfield. Best Prospect has almost exclusively previously raced on turf, but has won when the going's being slow, and should be able to handle the surface. He's recently been hurdling, with some success too.Top weight Kandidate may find that status too much, and is also the only one coming here not in great form. It promises to be a lively contest, with the selection being Formation.
