        Verdict

        Last month’s York runner-up Excessable goes well here but has been no favours by the draw and finished four lengths behind THRAVE, now 6lb better off, when last on this surface. Mick Appleby’s charge has dropped 8lb since that run despite some decent efforts on Turf this year. Queen Of Kalahari is back on her favourite surface after two runs on Turf and rates a threat and Praxeology won on his only previous try here. Marly won on Turf and Polytrack in France but has yet to win in this country and none of Scott Dixon’s trio make much appeal at the weights so Thursday’s Salisbury second Velocistar may be best of the rest.
