In depth

Verdict

Royale Django won at Newton Abbot in August though broke a blood vessel when starting favourite but finishing well beaten over track and trip last time. VERY FIRST TIME makes more appeal as Dan Skelton’s charge may finally have fallen far enough down the weights to end a long losing run judged on a close-up third at Market Rasen. He gets the vote to come out best. Sartene’s Son returns to action with a conditional taking 7lb off his back as he debuts for the Twiston-Davies’ yard but it’s difficult to make a case for any of the rest.
