Waterford Star has shown little in two starts but may be capable of more against this opposition on his first start on the artificial whilst Frosty Friday is entitled to improve after running very green on debut. This is a much easier race for ESCALA who never looked involved in The Radley Stakes at Newbury in October but she was progressing well prior to this and the step-up to a mile looks well within her grasps. She gets the tentative vote but Ibn Bajjah could well be good enough to take this on debut for Godolphin. He is a half-brother to plenty of winners and his dam won over this sort of trip. He is expected to progress over time as confirmed by his Derby entry and Saeed Bin Suroor's record with juveniles speaks for itself. However, racecourse experience could be enough to seal it for Escala. X Rated is progressing nicely and shouldn't be discounted whilst Ice Nelly is worth a market check on only her third career start.
