In depth

Verdict

GUTO is the selection with Music Box Express and Sherjawy the others of note. Bill Ratcliffe's stable seem to have come into form since their switch to Newmarket and Guto could be the latest to visit the winners' enclosure. He has put up two very solid efforts in defeat on the fibresand this month and with the handicapper exercising a little caution in not raising him for them, we take him to land the spoils today. Music Box Express is noted as a confirmed front runner. A higher draw may have helped this afternoon. Sherjawy has been in good form on the polytrack at Kempton. He does have to reverse form with This One's For Pat on their meeting of the 23rd December over course and distance. Hollow Jo is exposed though thoroughly consistent. Spic N' Span has a relatively poor strike rate for a horse of his capability. That said, his two previous successes have been posted here. Liberty Ship was well touted for a Wolverhampton contest in January but has not been seen out since. Martingrange Boy ran well here as a juvenile and is one to note in the market. Firewalker was once rated in the 70's when with Bryan Smart and is now in off a platers mark. Guto gets the vote.
