Verdict
A first try in this grade for Port St Charles could be the key to initiate an improved display and this previous course and distance winner gets the nod over Wings Of Morning and Polar Galaxy, who, along with Emaradia, are the first to look at from the reminder. The last mentioned has been consistent at this level and certainly knows her way around all three of Britain's all weather courses. The switch to this surface may bring about a better effort from her than she has been putting in lately and she can go well for each-way players that are only looking nick a place in the frame. Wings Of Morning also has good knowledge of the course having, until recently, been trained at the track after joining her current trainer after finishing second in a seller last December. However, the trip is an imponderable for punters and it may be prudent to see how the markets react about her dropping in trip before getting involved. Polar Galaxy ran well in a much better race than this last time at Haydock and is in with a major shout if repeating the effort today. Conversely though, he is making his debut on an artificial surface and has a little bit to prove. Therefore, it may pay to stick with Port St Charles, who has held his own at a higher level until now and, as he obviously handles the track well, he can get a nice confidence booster behind him if he runs his usual race this afternoon.
