Verdict
Although Treasure Trail and Triple Play make some appeal on what they have shown on turf, the way that the surface was acting at yesterday's meeting would count against the chance of a newcomer taking to the track. Those who tried to mount a challenge from off the pace found themselves engulfed in a cloud of dust and many appeared to be resenting the kickback. Therefore a tentative vote goes to Montoya, who has gone well here in the past and posted a possible return to form at Brighton last time. Broughton Zest also has to be considered after her performance at Sandown last time, despite being well held on both her previous visits to Southwell.
