Verdict

PERSEID won a novices' handicap over this trip in September and again showed his liking for the distance and good ground at Bangor last month. He's 8lb higher but looks the one to beat. Peter Silver had some decent form in France and should be ready after two runs for new connections though plenty of rain would probably aid his cause. Love The Leader completed a four-timer in October and will have needed last month's run at Huntingdon so he's on the shortlist along with Amber Flush, who showed signs of a return to form at Fontwell. Benenden has been chasing but pulled up on his last start over timber.
