Verdict
A trappy contest for a claimer and every runner can be given a chance of sorts. Dr Julian is a frustrating individual and has been tried in blinkers in the past. He travels strongly in his races, but finds precious little off the bridle. If there was a strong pace he wouldn't be without a chance. Stablemate Caroubier made the most of the drop in class at Wolverhampton and if he handles this different track he is another who would have strong claims. Using Senor Pedro as a yardstick Platinum Boy is there with every chance, but Kavi, who was only a head behind Kevin Ryan's colt at Wolverhampton, needs to find improvement as he meets his conqueror on 9lbs worse terms, taking into account the apprentice claims. Little Louis is as tough as they come and will be having his 22nd outing in nine months. He has yet to prove himself over this trip, but his dam is a half-sister to the high-class filly Lady Mere, who stayed this trip well, so there is every chance he will stay. Pines Of Rome turned in his best effort to date last time, but if this was a handicap he would be receiving much more weight than he gets here. Town Called Malice will appreciate the return to this grade and will be difficult to beat, despite giving weight away all round. Nick Littmoden's charge has not been disgraced in the face of some stiff tasks of late and can make the most of this easier opening.
