      Verdict

      A minimum stakes play with Mercari is recommended in race that makes limited appeal from a betting perspective unless there is a solid move for any of the rest before the off. Mill By The Stream and Dane's Rock are a couple of the rest that have claims at this level and can make the frame with a clear run, while Moon Mischief would not have to find much to figure strongly in this company. However, her recent performances have not intimated that a step up in trip is ideal for her and she, like a few of the others, has a bit to prove. Therefore, we take our chances with Mercari, who was always going to struggle over inadequate trips last term. A mile will suit her on pedigree and it will not be surprising to see a much improved effort from the George Moore-trained filly today.
