never better than mid-division
always prominent, ridden to dispute lead over 1f out, not quicken inside final furlong
stumbled start, always behind
mid-division, ridden over 2f out, kept on, never trouble leaders
slowly away and behind, raced wide 3f out, ridden and headway over 2f out, led just inside final furlong, stayed on
behind and soon pushed along, never dangerous
chased leaders, ridden over 1f out, stayed on same pace final furlong
mid-division, lost place 3f out, soon weakened
led, ridden 2f out, headed over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
with leaders until ridden and lost place over 2f out, soon weakened and eased final furlong
chased leaders, ridden and effort over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong
slowly into stride, always in rear
chased leaders, ridden and stayed on to lead approaching final furlong, soon headed, no extra final furlong
mid-division, raced wide 3f out, ridden and headway over 2f out, chance approaching final furlong, kept on under pressure
A competitive field goes to post for the first on the card but on closer inspection not many can be given a serious chance of winning and the principals look to be Czar Wars, Indian Steeps and Bint Royal and we will take a chance on the last named. The five year old won well last time out when defeating Teehee and although she has risen in the weights for that win she will be hard to beat with conditions again in her favour as she is still well handicapped on her best form. Indian Steeps is also worthy of respect he shaped as if returning to form when third behind Haripur last time but that was over a longer trip and the drop in distance is not sure to suit. Czar Wars loves it around here and always has to be respected. He was third behind Noble Locks last time but is better off at the weights here so their should not be much between them again. Of the remainder Jonny Ebeneezer is game And consistent while Branston Tiger has dropped to a handy mark so are worth noting in the market but we are happy to stick with Bint Royal.
