Verdict

Tedstale may be good enough to shrug off a break and beat Bethanys Boy, with Tiegs and Salym another couple to conjure with. Kevin Ryan normally does well on his visits to Southwell, and after casting his eye over this poor affair, he must surely be confident that Tedstale can come back with a bang. Successful twice in Turf claimers last summer, he has been off since finishing fifth at Catterick in October, but this drop to selling company gives him leading claims. Bethanys Boy has the fitness edge, having been kept busy on the all-weather, and on his head second to Finished Article in claiming company at Wolverhampton in January, he would have a leading chance, but the fact that he has been out of form means he can be taken on. Tiegs drops back to his preferred level, and Salym has taken on better rivals since coming over from France. Both are worth a mention, but if Tedstale gets into his stride, he should make a bold bid and is the pick.
