Verdict
Director¿s Chair has enough race course experience behind him and is taken to land this at the expense of Crimson Mitre and Fielder. The selection finished fifth of thirteen on his debut showing some promise at Kempton and improved to finish third to Golden Penny over a mile here last time out. He steps up in trip today which should suit as he has been doing all his best work late on. If able to improve again he will take all the beating. Crimson Mitre had four runs as a two year old providing his best result on his last run when finishing fourth in a competitive field. He ran in a handicap on his only start this year finishing a never nearer fourth of seven. He is entitled to improve from that but he will have to if he is to threaten the selection. Of the new comer Fielder looks a well bred individual but his trainer is not renowned for producing first time out flat winners. So for the winner we return to Director¿s Chair.
