Verdict

Kensington comes from a yard hot in form and can land this at the expense of Hit Only Jude and Thunderousapplause. The selection has two wins on the all weather this winter and looked to be the stable second string when winning at big odds on the turf at Windsor last time out. Connections are happy for him to run with a penalty and therefore he is respected. Hits Only Jude has become some what of a Southwell specialist winning all his three wins at this track. He is now 11 pounds higher since his latest win but he has run well in defeat on both his last two runs so although the handicapper may well have his measure he is consistent. Thunderousapplause will find life tough off a mark of 80 and carries top weight as a result. His form early last year reads well but whether he is good enough to win off his current mark is questionable. So for the winner we return to Kensington.
