In depth

Verdict

Tiger Moss has a habit of not seeing out his races with much gusto despite the recent application of the visor and he is taken on with MURPHYS BEAU. Sue Smith's gelding ran his best race to date recently when fifth to Finbin at Newcastle. He shaped there as if this drop in trip would not be against him and with the ground not a problem he should give backers a good run for their money. Early Wings is stepped up in trip and he has some fair runs under his belt from the turn of the year. Benmadigan has been dropped 5lb for his recent defeat at Newcastle but he is now winless in nine starts, so a bigger danger may be What A Cliche who is stepped up in trip for this first foray into handicap company. Classic Quart seems to have improved for the application of cheek-pieces and should not be unduly perturbed by this drop in trip, whilst Lady Sambury is now racing off a mark that she won off almost exactly a year ago. A market move for Romney Marsh would look significant, but in a tricky race it is top-weight Murphys Beau that we take a chance on.
