In depth

Verdict

So Grateful overcame a high draw to win a much better race over 6f here eight days ago, a second course victory of the campaign. He beat USTATH in the first but the latter is now 10lb better off for a length-and-a-quarter and, though the top weight is undoubtedly improving, the placings can be reversed. Roger Fell’s charge is also better off at the weights than when beaten by Birdie Bowers over course and distance last week when Young Tiger was only fourth. Mews House and Harrogate are other recent winners.
