Verdict
CALON CRWBIN looks the one to beat here, although strong runs from Kaybeew, Rozolenn and Promising Anshan would come as no surprise. The selection has more experience than many of his rivals, and has achieved an official rating of 120 after a solid third to Gus Macrae last time out. Having started at huge prices in three runs to date, he looks sure to be a much more prohibitive price today but that may underline his chance and he should run well with the step up in trip in his favour. Another Dark Rum doesn't look to be progressing, Battlefield Bob may improve for the better ground, whilst Busy Times may need three miles before winning. Kaybeew shaped with promise on his hurdling bow at Hereford and this Plumpton bumper winner should appreciate the longer trip today, as should former point-to-point winner Towmater. French import Rozolenn needs a market check on his first start for Venetia Williams, whilst Promising Anshan looks likely to appreciate this better surface and he ran well here when second to Persian Gates on his debut under rules. An interesting contest, but the feeling is that Calon Crwbin can score.
