Plenty of in-form performers in this competitive handicap that concludes the card, and from a shortlist of Laharna, Painted Sky, Weststern and FLASH HARRIET, it is the last-named who is selected. John Mackie's mare was a faller at Doncaster last time out when making it no further than the first, however on her previous form she looks interesting. A second to subsequent Cheltenham winner Peddlers Cross in December was followed with a good fourth at Huntingdon and this mark of 91 looks feasible in her quest for a maiden success. Laharna has been in consistent form over fences but was eventually well-held at Fontwell last time. That track may not have been ideal however and he is not one to write off just yet. General Smith's Warwick third to Golden Square reads well, Aboukir Bay returns to hurdling after a solid Folkestone third, whilst Painted Sky's winning form has come on good ground and he is now just 4lb higher than his last winning mark. He should be watched closely in the betting, as should Kayf Commander as he returns from a break. Alfloramoor's second to I've Been Framed has since been exposed as fairly modest form, so a bigger threat may be Weststern. He has been off since an average Doncaster run in December, but this strong traveller is considered a threat here in a race that should be run to suit. Irish Symphony ran well last month when second to Hidden Keel and a mark of 104 for this handicap debut may be workable, however it is her stablemate Flash Harriet who is preferred.
