      Verdict

BARATARIA may be able to get the better of the veteran course specialist Kingsmaite. Vogarth and Ridgeway Jazz should have more to offer on this surface and it would be no surprise to see Magical Song in the mix either. Kingsmaite has won four of his twenty eight starts here and finished in the money on a further nine occasions which is no mean feat but his recent wins have come over shorter trips and he's taken on. Barataria was having his first run at the track when second to the well handicapped and progressive Mozayada at the start of the month and is unlikely to bump into a similar rival here. It was also his first run for two months and normal improvement could see him go one better. Vogarth has been struggling to get his head in front but he has twice made the frame in three visits here and chased home Salerosa last time and he has an each-way chance. Ridgeway Jazz is returning from a break but was progressing quite nicely when last seen and may be able to resume her progress whilst Magical Song is a course and distance winner who could play a part in the finish if fit and ready for his return. Competitive fare as one may well expect; Barataria is our pick.
