In depth

Verdict

The drop back to six furlongs will suit HURRICANE HARRIET and she is selected ahead of the numerous course and distance winners, of which the most interesting could be Efisio Princess. Robert Cowell's filly just found the seventh furlong too much last time at a testing Newmarket and this three-time winner will be happier today. She makes her all-weather debut but if she handles the surface then she won't be far away from a good draw. Elusive Hawk is a two time winner at the track but has shown nothing in recent runs, Ballychroy Boy looks high enough in the weights and may be worth trying back in claiming company, whilst Incomparable won well in first-time cheek-pieces earlier in the month and he shouldn't mind the return to this trip. Efisio Princess lurks at the bottom of the weights, along with course specialist Count Cougar who is dangerously well-treated now. A testing finale, where the consistent Charles Parnell is another to consider, but the nomination goes to Hurricane Harriet.
