        Verdict

        Sweet Cherokee gets the nod over Augustus Livius and Royal Lass is a horrible race to assess. Genoa Star and Mid Valley are others to bear in mind if the betting market throws up a few clues on the day. Royal Lass - off a rating of 30 - is of limited ability and is obviously one to be very wary of. However, she is well-bred (in the context of this race) and, as she would not have to find much improvement to figure at this level, she is one to closely monitor for signs of each-way support. Augustus Livius showed very little on turf last season before posting a fair effort at Catterick when he was last seen out. He is open to improvement and, again, would have only a modicum of improvement to find to get involved at this level. However, preference goes to Sweet Cherokee, who has race fitness on her side and, as she has shown slight improvement in her last couple outings, she is given the benefit of the doubt in a race something has to win.
