Verdict
An awful race which can be taken by Royal Prodigy. Martin Pipe's gelding was thrashed on his only other attempt at this trip, but that was in better company and at Lingfield, which is clearly very different to Southwell. With his experience largely being over a mile or 10 furlongs, he will surely be ridden off the pace to help him get the trip and provided he can handle this surface first time, he can take advantage of a significant drop in class and see off some ordinary rivals. Favorisio will definitely be at home over the trip, having scored on similar going over 1m 6f last time at Wolverhampton. Having said that, he has a lot to find at these weights with the selection and one or two others and may find it tough to stage a follow up win. Perhaps best of the rest is King Priam, who has scored over course and distance and is back on a decent mark. He can give the selection most to do.
