KING OF THE BEERS is our order for the last with Elliwan and Safebreaker likely to have their followers. The selection does not quite stay a mile-and-a-half but he has a likeable enough attitude to racing on this surface and if able to garner a soft lead, he will take some catching. Elliwan won a handicap at the course before being turned over at odds-on. He never travelled on that occasion and punters will have to put it down to a bad day at the office. Safebreaker has been busy over the last few months. He kept on well to win at Pontefract over ten furlongs last week. Three Strings has an interesting jockey booking with Frederik Tylicki aboard for the Peter Niven stable. Norman Beckett has become quirky in his old age and it is to be hoped that a switch to the flat reawakens his enthusiasm for the task. Fortunella drops back in trip having not seen out two miles in the past. Safin was a tad disappointing in a claiming hurdle last week but he has gone well in the past as this venue. Savaranola has to be watched in the market from a shrewd yard. Jackie Kiely is dropping down the weights but not without good reason. King Of The Beers can provide the cheers in the finale.
