      In depth

      Verdict

While it is never easy for horses under penalties in bumpers, Alfie Flits won what looked a decent race at Wetherby in good style and is taken to give weight away to his rivals with Jass and the newcomers Ovide and Bodell rated the main dangers. Like the selection, Jass has won his only start so far but the form of his Huntingdon debut success does not match that of the selection so he is probably best watched. Jonjo O'Neill is capable of sending one out to win first time out in this grade but his representative Tour Card makes limited appeal here, while Tim Easterby's Webbow is likely to need more time. Howard Johnson's Video Rock gelding Ovide makes more appeal on pedigree first time out, while Bodell is more speedily bred than many of these and has to be considered. Alfie Flits created a favourable impression when successful at Wetherby though and is taken to follow up.
