The second division of the Sprint Nursery Handicap seems more straight forward with Kevin Ryan's LEWYN seemingly the clear choice ahead of Heslington while Kalahari Desert looks the best of the rest. Still a maiden after four starts the pick's form when not completely disgraced behind group class Rose Blossom on her penultimate start sets the standard. That performance was followed with a good run when finding just one too good on her handicap debut and given she's up just a couple of pounds for that she looks the one to beat. Heslington has looked progressive in three starts and with a pilot claiming seven pounds off his back looks to be racing under a good weight. As a son of Captain Rio Kalahari Desert should benefit for his introduction to this surface but his mark is not necessarily ideal while Cape Kimberley at least handles the fibresand and could improve for handicap company. The leading contenders all have a bit to prove on this surface but Lewyn sets the form standard.
