      Verdict

      The shortlist contains Red River Rebel, Makarim and Peas 'n Beans, with Red River Rebel nominated as the selection. Red River Rebel comes here on in good form and, even though he has a best all-weather mark to defy, this is not a strong event and he gets plenty of respect from us. Makarim is the only other course and distance winner in the line-up and, being rated five pounds lower than for a c/d win in January, a good run cannot be ruled out. A repeat of his best Wolverhampton efforts would put Peas 'n Beans on the premises, so do not rule him out, and Gavanello at least comes here on the back of showing something in a hurdles race, albeit a seller. Finally, Orchard House seemed to show improvement last time and a step up in trip could bring out some more but, for the selection, we are more than happy to stick with Red River Rebel.
