It is hoped that the well named LUCKY PUNT lives up to his name and accounts for Bin End and Heathyards Pride. Brendan Powell's charge has been something of a revelation since switching to the sand and appears to appreciate the Southwell fibresand. He beat course regular, Dunaskin, with something in hand and could be capable of defying the handicapper once again. Bin End returns from a long absence. A winner of a Leicester maiden, he caught the eye with a decent placed effort in a hot York handicap. The market should tell us how far forward he is this afternoon. Heathyards Pride is perhaps more readily associated with Wolverhampton. He too is off an absence although has got the services of his regular pilot, Graham Gibbons. Swiss Act has won here previously over 1m4f. He races as if he should stay the trip although the decision to go over further at this age is a little surprising. Calculating rarely wins though should have claims of hitting the places again. Chocolate Caramel has won over two miles previously and has had the benefit of a couple of recent spins at the racecourse. Lucky Punt could still be on the upgrade and we therefore stick with him this afternoon.
