It’s difficult to know what Shannon Hill achieved in winning a maiden between the flags in April by 30 lengths as only one of his 10 rivals completed. However, current connections paid £85,000 for him shortly after and he is a half-brother to two winners. RAMBLING RECTOR has only raced on soft going so far under Rules and did win a point on good ground. He’s had wind surgery since last seen and better is expected now with Richard Johnson back on board. Diomede des Mottes will have learned plenty from his sixth at Uttoxeter but Eyreshill is probably best watched.
