In depth

Verdict

Buachaill Alainn is a sound stayer but a 6lb rise for winning at Cartmel puts him on a high enough mark. DANDY DAN will have his stamina to prove but this sharp track should help. He gave a bold sight at Warwick on his chasing bow before reeled in close home and looks like making a better chaser than hurdler. Aubusson has only won once over fences and that was on heavy going. However, he’s been quite highly tried so could appreciate this easier task. Wind surgery appears to have the desired effect on Gorsky Island and he’s potentially well treated but Mercers Court has been unable to cash in on a tumble down the weights. Sporting Boy will be better for a spin over hurdles but looks a few pounds too high.
