Verdict

A small-but-select field face the starter for the day’s feature. Rossetti has only been beaten once here in five previous visits but Court Minstrel has every chance of reversing June running on better terms. St Saviour won here in April but remains 7lb higher but there is probably more to come from Comanche Chieftain, who is two from two over course and distance and was particularly impressive last time. DEAR SIRE (NAP) is developing into a decent handicapper and also has winning form over track and trip. Any rain wouldn’t harm his chance but he goes on good ground and had the proverbial ton in hand at Perth last month – his yard remains in excellent form.
