In depth

Verdict

Orbicularis ran a race full of promise at Newton Abbot last time and can go one better in this event at the expense of Mylo and Ice Crystal. The selection returned from a long break to run Rosetown to a length and three quarters, with Mylo back in third. That was an improved performance and further progression should be forthcoming. Jonjo O'Neill's Mylo was only a neck behind on that occasions has to be respected here despite no real turn around in the weights. Ice Crystal must also be given a mention. The top-weight hasn't raced for over six months, but showed plenty of ability when runner up in a better race than this at Kempton last October. Of the others Imperial Rocket doesn't look harshly treated and could fight for a place, but for the winner we return to Orbicularis.
