In depth
Verdict
A low grade affair gets proceedings underway but it is competitive contest non the less and the main protagonists appear to be Sovereign State, Scippit, and Red Genie and the selection is Sovereign State. The six year old was a good second behind Beausejour last time out under similar conditions and a reproduction of that effort would make him hard to beat. Scippit rates the main danger on his third behind Alude however he has since disappointed, but that was on rain softened ground and he will prefer this much faster surface. Red Genie is another that could go well but he does not always find as much as is expected off the bridle and fore that reason he is opposed on this occasion. Of the remainder Omey Strand and Husky have shown some ability on the flat and if they take to hurdling they should not be far away. However we are happy to stick with the selection Sovereign State.
